DESCRIPTION: APW - E Howard & Co, Boston, Series IV, adjusted, N-S (just over 19S), very heavy 18K "Joslin & Park" original HC with ET gold cuvette engraved "Presented to C Hillman Brough by his Father, April 28, 1894, for Honors won at College," crowned "18" stamp with "D" date letter, SW-SS, WE-SSD, lever escapement, 15J, screwed-down raised jewel settings, rayed scalloped pattern NI damascene, s#40343. Gross weight of assembled watch 103.7 dwt (161.3 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, staff good, completely gummed, needs full OH, fine mvt condition overall, cloudiness and many MFS, small dark spot at right perimeter edge of balance cock, hardly any oxide; dial with fracture between center and seconds, other hls; hour and seconds hands near mint, minute fine, oxidized; case shows medium wear, many MFS, one flat dimpled dent in band, no other dents or dings, ET detail gone in large portion of front, fading out in back; bow tight, worn to brass, tarnished, crown shows substantial smooth wear but still has full gold highlights, showing it to be solid gold around core; good glass crystal.
